You will have to have a interview, I remember getting mine via the Commander in charge of my high schools JROTC program, as well as my area's local Blue and Gold officer. Generally you need to be in the top to get the best fields. Sub's want people good in physics and math, as you will have to learn how to operate a nuclear reactor.
