Faulty cps, brown transmission fluid, takes a little to rev up and go faster... what do i do?

i have a 1996 honda accord sedan 4 door. i did a diagnostic check and tps and cps came up but a mechanic scanned it, and told me that its the cps that i need to fix. i dont have money to fix these problems but i also wanted to kno if i should just keep driving the car? Would that make things worse? My transmission fluid is brown, can any oil lube place replace the fluid? oh and last but not least, my car doesnt go fast right away. it takes a little while before it fully accelerates, what could be the problem???
